We offer four different types of classes for adults who are seeking to learn in a safe, welcoming environment. All classes are taught by professional educators who respect the adult learners’ experiences and background knowledge.

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION (ABE)

Classes focus on reading, writing, math, and spelling skills that are related to employment and personal growth.  The books and materials are written specifically for adult learners and include science, history, current events, and other topics that adults find interesting.

English as
a second language
(esl)

Classes are designed to help adult learners develop their knowledge and skills in English speaking, listening, reading and writing.  The books and materials used for class are specifically developed for adult learners and include topics that support second language learners in their everyday lives.

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY (HSE)

Classes are designed to prepare adults for the HiSET exam (https://hiset.ets.org). This exam includes five separate sections: reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. Class materials include books, other print resources, and an online program specifically designed for HiSET preparation.
