Press Release - Wine and Dine Fundraiser to Benefit Oklahoma City Literacy Center
OKLAHOMA CITY - Community Literacy Centers, Inc. (CLC) will hold its annual fundraiser, Private Reserve - Wine and Dine for Literacy, on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at The Beacon Club. The event commences at 6:30 p.m. The occasion benefits Oklahoma City area adults who can't read.
Private Reserve features a lovely evening of fine dining and an opportunity to mingle with vintners from prestigious California wineries. The evening also includes a live auction featuring travel and luxury items, a silent auction, and unforgettable entertainment. The 2009 Private Reserve chairs are Kathy Lippert and Sheila Heim.
Over the past 15 years, with the help of local patrons and sponsors, Private Reserve has raised over $1 million to fund literacy programs and provide services to over 27,000 people at Community Literacy Centers. Private Reserve is the only fundraising function held by CLC.
Vintners include Erba Mountainside Vineyards, Robert Keenan Winery, Hahn Estates, Smith & Hook Winery, Lucienne Vineyards, Joullian Vineyards, Toad Hollow Vineyards, Cycles Gladiator Wines, and The Gabrielle Collection.
The vintners were provided by Rick Naifeh of Premium Brands.
Private Reserve Co-Chair Kathy Lippert said the event will emphasize the significant work CLC does every day.
"I can't stress enough the importance of providing members of the Oklahoma City community the chance to make a better life for themselves," said Lippert. "CLC is changing lives every day by teaching people to read, who are in turn, changing the lives of their own families."
Richard and Jeanette Sias of Joullian Vineyards will be honored for their dedication and commitment to Private Reserve and Community Literacy Centers. Joullian Vineyards has participated in the event for the past 15 years. Frankie Williams of Toad Hollow Vineyards will accept an award on behalf of her late husband, Dr. Todd Williams, who was a founding vintner and supporter of Private Reserve.
Bank of Oklahoma and The Beacon Club are the headlining sponsors for Private Reserve. Sponsorships are still available. Patron sponsorships are $3,000 for a vintner table or $5,000 for a corporate headlining sponsorship. Individual tickets are $200.
